Peer Feedback 2: Digital Literacies c2017

USQ MA Ed TESOL Infographic by Maria Remindeo, 2017 The lines appear to draw a window that could represent the world outside the confines of cyberspace, resembling a CPU engine room of mechanisms. The four IP/OP parameters associate with dynamic and interactive processes of language learning via cognitively charged senses/physiology.

  • Krashen (1982) and Vygotsky’s (1978) theories support this. Brown also supports this (2007, pp.62-80). Hence, I agree with the structured/guided learning; good for accuracy/fluency.

  • Facebook and Twitter are social media applications that have changed the way people communicate internationally. EAL/D students engage through interactive BUP/TDP reading (www.slideshare.net, 2017) listening and writing practice; e.g. curriculum cycle collaboration. Speaking, via guided practice with the Facebook private message microphone.

  • Variety is key, because it associates with field, tenor and mode [‘register’] (Derewianka, p.6, 2012). Various contexts provide a variety of subject matter/assessment in real or distant time/space via Web2 tools; e.g. Kahoot!

  • Negotiating meaning is extracted via language exposure, how Western society is opinionated via free-speech correlating occidental epistemologies; e.g. norms via culture and photography. This links authentic learning, and marketing strategies are used for engagement contributing to motivation.

Summarising, some icon presence is suitable, however, the infographic supports language learning, teaching and digital literacies.
